The members of FANHS-Delano continue to morn the loss of our founder and past president, Alex B. Edillor. He passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 7, 2023 in Bakersfield, CA. In addition to being a charter member and president of our organization, Alex co-founded Philippine Weekend in 1975, was instrumental in the early preparations designating a park in honor of Larry Itliong, and shared his vision for this website with members Melody Saberon Ybarra and Elina Barney Simon. It is my sincerest hope that our current members, and those who have yet to join, will be able to convey Alex’s love for family, history, and community through this organization and website for years to come.
